Why funeral directors use Dictu

No app download

Guests scan a QR code and the service opens instantly in their browser in their own language.

🕊️

Dignified experience

The interface is calm, minimal, and unobtrusive — designed for the weight of the moment.

💼

Part of your service

Add it to your premium offering. Most funeral directors charge €50–150 extra — Dictu costs €149 per event.

Works under pressure

Set up in under 10 minutes. Works even if a tribute is submitted the night before the service.

Why we built this

We had been there ourselves —
with no tool and no time to prepare.

When one of our parents died, family travelled from across Europe to be there. People who had never been in the same room before, speaking different languages, all trying to grieve together. The tributes were heartfelt — but for half the room, they were just words they couldn't follow. There was nothing we could do about it. There was no time, no tool, and no good solution that existed.

A few years later, planning our wedding in Amsterdam with Dutch, English, French, and Italian guests, we finally built what we had needed then. A simple way for every person in the room to follow along in their own language — in real time, no app, no fuss.

What struck us most wasn't just that everyone laughed and cried at the same moment. It was that family members who would normally never have spoken felt brave enough to take the stage — knowing everyone would understand them.

We thought about that funeral. We knew Dictu had to exist for those moments too.

What families say

"Our international family flew in from four countries. Hearing the tributes in their own language — that made the difference. It felt like Grandma was saying goodbye to everyone personally."
